Last week I was finally reunited with my Ghia.
I've had the car for about 8 years now, last October it wen't into the paintshop to be painted, unfortunately I never got to see it finished before I had to return to Australia. I returned to the UK last week to sell up and ship all my possessions out to Aus. Seeing the car in paint for the first time was an exciting moment.
Today I fitted the bonnet and boot lids so that they were secure enough for shipping. I also fitted the steering column, steering wheel and the upper and lower dash pads. The dash pads are fragile items and so I figured the best place for them is on the dashboard. The shipping guys will be happy that they can now steer the car to load it up.
I'm going to fit the bumpers to protect the bodywork (just in case the shipping guys have a mishap) and refit the handbrake. I'm also fitting the gearbox and engine but at this stage I'm not planning to do any more until it arrives in Australia as I still have a lot of stuff to do on the house.
